COMMUNICATION WITHIN THE COMPANY:TYPES

Depending on the scope

INTERNAL

IIt occurs among members of an organization. It links the different levels and departments of the hierarchical organization. For ex, sales and R&D.

Vertical

It is established between management and employees of the company (Botttom-up or top-down)

Horizontal

It is among employees of the same hierarchical level.

EXTERNAL

It is the communication between the company and the outside. It links the company with its environment

COMMUNICATION WITHIN THE COMPANY:TYPES

Depending on the code

ORAL

It takes place through the spoken language. Face to face or via the phone. Faster feedback.

ORAL

WRITTEN

A medium is required (Paper, computer or similar) Feedback is slower

NON-VERBAL

WRITTEN

NON-VERBAL

It is performed through gestures, glances, facial expressions, body movements, etc. Very difficult to hide. Control contradiccions, some gestures are unconsiously.

Depending on the level of control

FORMAL

When the communication is according to the communication line and standard of the company. It is used to transmit information on topics related to the organization.

INFORMAL

It can happen inside or outside the company. It arisses in spontaneous relationships that are based on affinity between colleagues. It covers all topics, not only organizational ones. Codes and channels are not controled by management.

Efeective Working Meetings

  • Specifiy and define the objective.
  • Name a Moderator/coordinator.
  • Show always interest.(You are working)
  • Define and adequate number of participants.
  • Define time and adequate duration.
  • Define a place. (Ease of access, visibility, acoustics, comfort).
  • Documentation should be prepared in advance.
  • Promote a open and safe working environment (Avoid confrontation, interruptions, etc)

  • Meeting request with time, date and objectives.
  • Attendants.
  • Prepare an introduction

  • Action plan for implementation

COMMERCIAL

It affects either the product/service and the brand.

CORPORATE

Reports qualities and attributes of the organization. Familiar, customer oriented, etc

BUSINESS

Based on coporate identity. Number of employees, awards, etc.

INSTITUTIONAL

Based on subjective corporate identity. Friendly, nice, environmentaly friendly

Types according to the public

GENERAL PUBLIC

In order to generate a positive image of itself.

COMMERCIAL PUBLIC

Customers: Suppliers and distributors.

PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Manage legislation of the public affecting the sector.

MEDIA

Give their opinion in their channels.
