- Resume- Education Section. UC Davis Internship & Career Center.
It should be at the top of your resume, either as the first key heading after your contact information or right after your objective or profile. If you are a current college student or recent graduate, your education is a big part of your identity as a young professional, so go ahead and display it proudly.
Placement
Spell out the full name of the degree and university. For example, "Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, University of California, Davis." If you have any minors or concentrations it is also a good idea to include those. Include your expected graduation date. This will help employers know when you will be done with school.
Content
This information might help an employer better understand your academic preparation, knowledge, and skills. Limit your relevant coursework to no more than 9 courses and make sure to write the title of the courses (including labs) and not the course number.
Relevant Coursework
For this, it will depend, and it is your decision! Our advice is that you include your GPA if your cumulative GPA is above a 3.0. Employers don't care to see it, but some employers do want or even expect to see it -- depending on the opportunity.
