machine learning

Uses data and algorithms enabling AI to operate.

What is it?

Can an ethical and responsible approach to generative AI capable of turning back time, mimicking, and learning from human behavior be created, contained, and maintained? The FTC’s Office of Technology, founded in 2023, includes 24 members of the International Competition Network (ICN), which is committed to strengthening technical capacity through comprehensive policies and enforcement processes. Assuming (idealistic) we use technology to enhance learning, increase efficiency, and make scientific and medical innovations, increasing our everyday experience without a robot uprising or develpoing and creating dinosaurs. We can keep up and maintain every day balance between cyberspace and humanity.

Keep up
Ethical

Each open browser or app collects personal data, history, and more affording possible misuse of information, misinformation, propaganda and more. More importantly, how does society govern a global phenomenon euqally throughout vast polticial stances?

“The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.” The Oxford Dictionary of Phrase and Fable (2 ed.) Following maps and navigation frees up the mental space required to recall directions while leaving hands available and free from using physical maps, atlases, mapquest, and travel guides. Etc. Providing the driver with better focus on the road and surrounding vehicles.

Artificial Intelligence

Operates similarly to human neurons, linking neural networking and analyzing complex data, enabling self-driving cars and advanced image recognition.

Industry

Did you know...

AI will not take our jobs. However, it will make them easier if we let it.

  • Creating this visual did not require hours of coding or training.
  • Only a simple template to replace template examples with personal thoughts and information.
  • However, did my message come across? Without proper analytical and communication skills the visual becomes useless.

Education

Technology in and out of the classroom is no longer optional. Institutions and companies, together or separately, continue to create various immersive environments, gamification, and automated grading to collect data and enhance learning. Greatly expanding opportunities bringing once local information worldwide with virtual tours of multiple landmarks, to guest lecturers' ability to manipulate documents and collaborate in real-time. Collecting data and creating personalized learning is ideal, however, unrealistic.

Machine Learning

A branch of computer science focuses on using data and algorithms to enable AI in three parts. 1. Decision processing algorithms predict and classify based on input data. 2. Error Function evaluates the prediction model to compare known error functions to access for accuracy. 3. The model optimization process fits better data points, adjusts weights, and reduces discrepancies through repetitive evaluation and optimization. IBM. (n.d.). Machine learning. IBM. fourth industrial revolution

4IR blurs the lines between cyberspace and mechanical realms and offers humanity a vast opportunity to integrate and enhance technology in everyday life. While focusing on how industries create smarter, more efficient, highly automated systems and balance possible outcomes. Education interacts and develops new strategies to reach those traditionally unreachable and assist those generally left aside to incorporate a more inclusive learning environment.

Societal Views

Did you know...

Pew Research saw an increase in concern over the last three years moving from 37% in 2021 to 52% in 2023.

  • AI Public Awareness is minimal despite the applications we use daily.
  • Understanding varies between age, access, and gender.
  • Oppose employers using AI for hiring, tracking employee productivity, and facial recognition.
  • Surveyed teens (13-17) understand ChatGPT's purpose includes researching new topics and assisting with math processes.
  • Most interestingly, the teens agree that copy-pasting a pre-written or semi-written paper from ChatGPT is unacceptable.
Advantages

The advantages and benefits of AI, Generative AI, and increasing biomedical advances outweigh the potential risks in many areas.

  • Create a more efficient and sophisticated world with proper restraints and regulations. (Ex: Altered Carbon)
  • Increase medical benefits (hopefully decreasing costs), easing suffering.
  • We can collaborate and communicate with field experts globally through shared research, publications, and study materials.
  • The link below is a case study with examples of ChatGPT versus graduate students and the professors as facilitators.
My favorite quote:"They expressed feeling stuck in a “loop.” One student tried to ease the tension by dismissing ChatGPT’s contribution as “not really saying anything.” Another challenged him: “Did we really say anything?”

Medical

Pew Research Center, found 59% of Americans are optimistic coming technology and scientigic changes will make life better in the future. However, mixed concerns and thoughts are looming around medical enhancements. Pew Research
