During the Japanese Invation I have to escaped with 100 children in a twelve-day journey from Yangchen to The Yellow River.

Dispite I was born in the Uniter Kingdom, I moved to China in 1930. Which means, I lived between the Japanese invation to China

ANECDOTE

Once, the Mandarin called me to be foot inspector because the foot binding of young girls’ feet had been banned

When we arrived to our destination, I kept working preaching the Gospel.I returned to England, but in 1949 I moved to Taiwan and founded the Gladys Aylward Orphanage and the Gladys Aylward Children’s Home.
