Reservation Types

Non Guaranteed

Involve the hotel agreeing to hold a room until a specified cancellation hour. If the guest does not arrive by that time, the hotel can release the room. Hotels that anticipate full occupancy often prefer to accept only guaranteed reservations.

Guaranteed

Assure the guest that the hotel will hold a room for them and provide the hotel with protection in the case of no-shows. The most common form of guaranteed reservations is the prepaid guarantee, where the guest pays in advance. Another type is the advance deposit guaranteed reservation, which requires the guest to pay the hotel money prior to their arrival.
