Here you can put a standout title, something that captivates your audience

Interactivity and animation can be your best allies when it comes to creating tables, infographics, or graphs that help provide context to the information and simplify the data for your audience. We are visual beings and it is easier for us to "read" images than to read written text.

Did you know that in addition to taking advantage of our resources, you can add any visual elements you want to complement the information? Try it out using the Image or Resources menus!

With Genially templates, you can include visual resources to leave your audience amazed. You can also highlight specific phrases or data that will be etched into the memory of your audience, and even embed external content that surprises: videos, photos, audios... Whatever you want!

Describe the problem you are going to solve and, above all, the reason why your idea is interesting

Animate your content and take it to the next level

Share your idea with an image

Provide context to your topic with a subtitle

Visual content is a universal, cross-cutting language, like music. We are able to understand images from millions of years ago, even from other cultures.

  • They help break the monotony
  • They illustrate what you want to convey
  • They allow you to synthesize content
  • They are an aesthetic resource
  • They tell stories on their own
  • They keep the brain awake.

Insert an awesome video for your presentation

And use this space to describe it. Multimedia content is essential in a presentation, to leave everyone amazed. Additionally, you will synthesize the content and entertain your audience.

The chalkboard is one of the earliest forms of technology that facilitated interactive teaching between the teacher and students. In 1823, Samuel Reed Hall had given the title of the chalkboard, which was introduced to schools in the 19th century. This was crucial to education because, The transformation of the chalkboard in the 19th century marked a significant shift in how information was presented and consumed in educational settings. This set the stage for a transformative era in teaching methods" (NYBlackboard, 2023).

Though whiteboards didn't become popular until the 1990's, it was actuall invented 30 years back by Martin Heit in 1960. They were orginally made out of enamel steel, but due to logistics, they are now made out of a glossy laminate and some are even made of tempered glass. Compared to chalkboards, "whiteboards are just plain more visible, portable, and less fragile, as well as costing a mere fraction to produce" (Nackton, 2017). Overall, they are more convenient than chalkboards.

In the late 1900s, "motion picture projector was one the first media devices used in schools" (Reiser, 2001). This made such an advance in our school systems that Thomas Edison believed, "...It is possible to teach every branch of human knowledge with the motion picture. Our school systems will be completely changed in the next ten years" (cited in Saettler, 1968, p.98). Projectors can produces slides, images, or a camera view for students to learn.

The SMART Board, invented by Nancy Knowlton and David Martin, combined the benfits of the projector and whiteboard in order to encapsulate different types of educational interactivity for students. It is beneficial because, "The touch-sensitive display connects to a computer and digital projector to display an image of what is currently on your computer screen. Users can then control computer applications, using touch-control directly on the display. They can also write notes in digital ink, which are superimposed on an image, screenshot or document without changing the underlying image" (Springgay, 2009). This opens the door for learning and visual learning for both the students and teachers.
