The AC issues are not just specific to areas like the west end of the English hall, but felt in many parts of the school. Money Matters teacher, Ms. Pinto, teaches her class in the portables during 7th and 8th period, the heat of the day. Pinto has had to move her class four times since the start of school on August 20th. “I have one fan here but the students always complain,” she said. “It disrupts the kids' learning a lot. If they're not in the same learning environment every time, they will get distracted so easily. They are always so tired, they just know ‘oh we are not going here again so we have to go to another class.'" The AC in portable 11 has been on and off for the past week. At the moment, it is completely off, leaving Pinto and her classes to relocate, or to stay in the portable, which at around lunch time on August 28, was 84 degrees.
“I’m not doing my best. I know all the admin are helping us put in orders so the district can come here and fix it, but they are not coming. It's just like 'Help us.'”

While the west side of the English hall's lack of AC due to a broken part is one of the most notable issues, classes in one of the science halls seem to be struggling with an old HVAC system. Advanced Chemistry teacher, Mr. Ely, shared that for him, the problem isn't unordinary.
“It happens every year it seems like. It’s just really hot in here,” he said. “I mean it’s just something you get used to. Yeah it’s hot, [especially] with the last couple classes. But you just adapt to the hot.”

"It's just been really hard. It's kind of taken a toll on my health actually. At the end of the day last week I was feeling really not well probably because I hadn't been drinking enough water because it was so hot in my room. Now I’m losing my voice." Meredith Miller - Room 107

"I do think that it makes the kids lethargic because it makes me less bouncy too. I’m usually really high energy, but as the class period wears on I kind of wear down a little bit. Especially later in the day the kids try to keep with the heat but I’ll be like "if you're hot you can move,” and I also try to move the fan so it blows on them." Nicole Sorto - Room 143
