B.F. Skinner was a psychologist who introduced operant conditioning, which leads to reinforcing behaviors.
Piaget introduced cognitive development theory around 1936. This theory introduced four stages of cognitive growth learners experience.
Connectivism is a newer theory that focuses on the importance of technology and learning networks.
Humanism in education focuses on the whole person, which is a student driven philosophy (Holt, 2023).
Vygotsky was a constructivist theorist who emphasized learning is a social process with active learners (Tambayan, 2024).
Behaviorism emphasized consistent feedback, and led to systematic programmed instruction in the classroom (Tambayan, 2024).
Cognitivism emphasized prior knowledge, and led to inquiry learning, which encourages exploring and discovering through questioning (Tambayan, 2024).
This learning is student-centered including goal setting, various learning opportunities, and an integration of technology (Holt, 2023).
Contsructivism emphasizes project based learning with an active and collaborative learning environment (Tambayan, 2024).
Connectvism emphasizes technology tools, internet resources, and blended learning environments (Tambayan, 2024).
