First day of school
Today is back-to-school day. Mrs Paulson, the math teacher, welcomes the students.
Welcome class! Please sit down and take out your stuff.
Suddenly, someone knocks at the door. The teacher points at Yara.
Miss, can you open the door, please?
Yara gets up and opens the door.
Good morning, Mrs Paulson! Sorry to be late! I missed the bus.
Andrew! Hurry up, come in and sit down.
Andrew comes in and sits next to Yara.
Hi! I'm Yara. Nice to meet you. I don't know anybody in this school.
Hi Yara! You’re sitting next to the right person! I know everybody here.
What do you think of Mrs Paulson?
Mrs Paulson ? She’s cool! She likes me.
Can you stop chatting at the back?
Andrew and Yara stop chatting for a while. Then, Yara notices a girl at the front.
Who is the girl in the front row?
This is Emma. She is nice but very competitive.
And the boy next to the window?
This is my friend Taylor. He's very funny. He always tells jokes.
You two at the back: be quiet now! Andrew, be careful, the school year is just starting…
