Quiz TERMINÉ

Nous avons entendu deux chants religieux en dialogue. Dans le Requiem de Mozart deux choeurs à voix égales (un choeur d'homme et un choeur de femme) dialoguent. Dans le gospel GoDown Moses un soliste dialogue avec un choeur mixte. Le Requiem est un chant antiphonique alors que Go Down Moses est un chant responsorial.

Sur les voies de chemin de fer en construction, sur les chantiers, les hommes noirs rythment leur travail en chantant. Cela s'appelle des "Work Songs" ou chants de travail. Ils pratiquent leur musique africaine de manière détournée. Un dialogue s'établit entre un soliste qui lance une phrase (l'appel) à laquelle répond le choeur (la réponse).

Convertis au christianisme par les colons, les noirs américains se tournent vers la prière pour oublier leur condition d'esclave et se réunissent à l'église pour chanter. le Negro-Spiritual devient leur moyen d'expression. Les etxtes chantés issus de la Bible font référence à la libération du peuple hébreu. On retrouve dans les chants la technique du dialogue responsorial présent dans les Work-Songs.
