Good Afternoon Jen- THANK YOU for being proactive on an alternative text for this short story. I was able to vet pieces of the text today and believe parents may have strong feelings about it. LD will be looking to make some adjustments for next year. I reached out to Family Services to help us message to families that they can pick alternative IF/WHEN families bring this up on social media. All MS admin will be briefed tomorrow so they can support teachers if/when a CT reaches out. Thanks again for all you do! Nicole A. Smith | Provost - Middle School Program

Hi Jen, Jessie met with Julia Davin today and she had some very positive feedback about your coaching sessions with her. She found your guidance on management to be helpful and is looking forward to putting more things in practice over the next week. This was exciting to hear as she was a bit reluctant to meet with you. We love it when our teachers experience what a great resource you are! Keep being awesome, Kelly Kelly Musser | Middle School Principal

Good morning Jennifer, I took a good look at your genially presentation and I thought it was right on the mark of what we discussed. Your genially is robust and contains some excellent information. It aligns with what we have been discussing with teachers in house 2. I like your idea of a 2-part teacher workshop to share with teachers. I hope we have a lot of teachers interested in participating in your workshop. Thank you for your leadership on this. I am excited to see how the teaches respond to this information. Thanks again. Ken

Hi Jen – THANK YOU for your help and guidance with today’s ELA session. The teachers seemed to appreciate the level setting and discussion of concerns. Kelly Kelly Musser | Middle School Principal

Observation Notes
  • Glow:
    • I LOVE how much you had the teachers engaged. While you provided a lot of information and resources, you still had opportunities for teachers to interact and participate
    • You had such an amazing depth of resources and examples in your Genially! It was really impressive how many resources you pulled together, especially actual examples from teachers. If I were teaching I would have been so thankful and excited about all of the resources you shared, and this would have really inspired me to try something different and new.
Dates Offered:
  • November 15th
  • December 10th
Why do we set objectives and learning targets? Because of the following 2 principles of andragogical teaching
  • For adults to develop a readiness to learn, they need to know the impact the subject/topic they’re learning will have on their personal lives, careers, or sociability.
  • Adults will learn better when the topic is problem-oriented, instead of content-oriented.

Making sure to always keep my PD's interactive and engaging by providing the teachers time to talk about their thoughts, what they are already doing that aligns with the topic, and their concerns.
