1660-1689 Charles II became king. During the wars that King Charles I had encouraged, his son Charles II was made to live in France for safety. He later ran to France again when England did not want him as their King.

King Charles I King Charles I became king in 1625. He was not a good King and sacked his government multiple times and led the country to war on many occasions. He was later executed for treason and beheaded in front of many people.
1660 Samuel Pepys Samuel Pepys began writing a diary that would later become incredibly important as a historical document that would help people understand the events of the Great Fire of London.
1689 The glorious revolution King Charles II died and his brother King James II became king. However, people disliked that King James II was roman catholic and he was later overthrown and King William III became king and therefore the stuart era came to an end.
King James the first King James became the first stuart king of England in 1603.
1664-1665 The Great Plague The Great Plague was the last bubonic plague in England. Bubonic means that it was transmitted by rats. This was because of the crowded and unhygienic conditions in the 17th century. Nowadays, it is treatable with antibiotics.
1666 The Great Fire of London
Oliver Cromwell 1649-1660 In 1649 Oliver Cromwell led an army and was later to become known as the 'Lord Protector.' It is believed that Cromwell tried to ban christmas because he thought it was wasteful.
Guy Fawkes 1604 In 1604 Guy Fawkes attempted to kill King James I. This became known as the 'Gunpowder plot.'
