Early Bird Classes

Dismissal
Early bird classes start promptly at 7:00 a.m. Only early bird students should arrive at this time. Students are not supervised until 7:30 a.m.
Students may eat breakfast in the cafeteria beginning at 7:30 a.m. First period starts promptly at 7:55 a.m.
Dismissal is at 2:06 p.m. Students should arrive promptly for after-school activities or leave campus quickly to prevent loitering.
Backpacks
Classroom Space
Locker Storage
To maximize classroom space and ensure a safe learning environment, backpacks are not allowed in classrooms.
All backpacks must be stored in lockers during the instructional day. Students are responsible for ensuring their backpacks are secure.
Handbags and Purses
Any handbag or purse large enough to carry school books is considered a backpack and is not allowed in classrooms.

Positive Attitude
Guest teachers deserve the highest courtesy and cooperation from students at all times. Students are expected to treat them with respect and follow classroom rules.
Guest teachers are essential members of our school community. Students are encouraged to be helpful and supportive, making them feel welcome.
Students should approach guest teachers with a positive attitude, engaging actively in lessons and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Purposeful Movement
Students are expected to demonstrate Gibson Great 8, our school's core values, in all settings, including the quad area and hallways.
Although a bell signals the end of each class period, only the classroom teacher will dismiss students.
As students change classes, they are expected to walk purposefully to their next destination.

Types of Belongings
This includes bicycles, calculators, cell phones, band or orchestra instruments, backpacks, clothing, confiscated nuisance items, or any school-related items.
The school is not responsible for any items lost or stolen from anywhere within the school during a school day, at night, or over a weekend.
Students who bring personal belongings to school are responsible for the security and safety of those items.

For safety and security reasons, students are REQUIRED to wear their Gibson Leadership Academy I.D. card and lanyard at all times while on campus.
Students will receive a Gibson Leadership I.D. card. This card is needed to check out books, present at cafeteria windows, and is required for numerous activities and special programs at school.
Replacement IDs are $2.00. Replacement lanyards are $2.00. Students may purchase before or after school with the School Banker in the front office.
