Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia.

What is FVRCP?

Symptoms you may see:
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Sneezing
  • Runny nose
  • Lethargy
  • Excessive sleeping
  • Loss of appetite
  • Clear, yellow or green discharge from the nose or eyes
  • Squinting
  • Ulcers on the hard palate, tongue, lips or nose
  • Vomiting
  • Bloody diarrhea
  • Dull and rough coat

Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia is a series of respitory infections. These viral infections are spread from cat to cat through saliva, nasal or eye discharge, and airborne particals

So what can we do?

We can vaccinate for these infections. Riversong carries Purevax vaccine for cats. We call this vaccine the FVRCP or feline distemper vaccine. This vaccine can be started at 8 weeks of age and be repeated every 3-4 weeks until 16 weeks then after a year then every 3 years.
