L'énergie désigne tout ce qui permet d'effectuer un travail, de fabriquer de la chaleur, de la lumière et de produire un mouvement.

2 Les différentes énergies

Il existe de nombreuses sources d’énergie dans la nature : bois, pétrole, gaz, vent... Ces sources d’énergie permettent de produire plusieurs catégories d’énergie : - énergie électrique - énergie musculaire - énergie éolienne - énergie thermique - énergie hydraulique ... Ces énergies sont utilisées pour faire fonctionner un objet ou un être vivant.

3. Classement des sources d'énergie

Une énergie renouvelable est une source d'énergie qui se renouvelle assez rapidement pour être considérée comme inépuisable à l'échelle de temps humaine.Une énergie non renouvelable (énergie fossile) est une source d'énergie qui se renouvelle trop lentement pour être considérée comme inépuisable à l'échelle de temps humaine.

Une expédition d’extra- terrestres arrive sur terre en 2324, leur vaisseau est tombé en panne. Pour pouvoir relancer leur moteur qui fonctionne à l’eau, ils doivent faire chauffer une petite quantité de celle-ci (10 à 20 cl) à (60°) minimum. Ils ne disposent comme source d’énergie que la lumière du soleil. Heureusement ils se sont posés près d’une décharge où ils vont pouvoir trouver du matériel :

II. Définir les deux paramètres qui permettent de produire de la chaleur en utilisant l’énergie solaire

Les rayons du soleil sont envoyés sur les canettes par le miroir et font chauffer l’eau à l’intérieur.L’eau qui est dans la canette noire chauffe plus et plus vite que l’eau qui est dans la canette blanche. La lumière du soleil s’est transformée en chaleur.

II. La notion d'espèce

Puisque ces oiseaux ont des points communs, ils font partie d’un même groupe : le groupe des mésanges. Mais ces mésanges présentent des différences entre elles, dans ce groupe il y aura des sous groupes. Cherchons-les.

Un groupe d’êtres vivants a des caractères communs. Dans ce groupe il y a, tout de même des différences entre eux. C’est pour cela qu’on forme des sous groupes appelés espèces. Exemple, dans le groupe des mésanges on trouve : l’espèce des mésanges noires, l’espèce des mésanges bleues, l’espèce des mésanges charbonnières … Les individus d’une même espèce se reproduisent entre eux, c'est-à-dire qu’ils peuvent avoir des petits ensemble, et ces petits peuvent également se reproduire.

III. Etablir un classement

Vous avez à disposition 6 photographies d'animaux qui appartiennent à un même groupe. Sous trois d'entres elles, il y a un nom. Vous renseignerez la carte d’identité de ce groupe en observant bien précisément les animaux et en vous aidant de la fiche documentaire. Vous écrirez le nom du groupe. Quand ce travail sera terminé, sur le même modèle que celui des mésanges, vous allez classer les photographies d’animaux par espèce en les regroupant avec un trombone.

Les animaux présentent des caractères communs, exemple : le thon et l’écureuil ont tous les deux une bouche, des yeux et un squelette interne. Mais ils présentent aussi des différences, exemple : l’écureuil a quatre pattes et le thon a des nageoires. Les scientifiques ont élaboré une classification en s’appuyant sur les caractères communs et les différences des êtres vivants.
