Reasons to conserve:
- It takes energy to clean and transport water, so conserving water means saving energy.
- Reducing what we use keeps water where it's needed: in wetland and aquatic ecosystems.
- Saving water, saves you money - especially if you have a water meter.
Over 70% of our earth is water, so why do we need to consider water conservation? For drinking, growing crops and feeding livestock, not just any water will do. We need clean, unpolluted water. Scientists estimate that humans will run into a water shortage by 2080 if we do not conserve now.
Is water renewable?
On average, each person uses 140L of water per day.
Why Conserve Water?

- Cool water in the fridge, rather than running the tap.
- Put lids on boiling pots to avoid evaporation.
