Field Friends
Dean spends every Saturday playing soccer with his friends. Dean’s friends think he is a great striker. Dean thinks so too, but he doesn’t say it. The friends all like to laugh and joke, but they take soccer very seriously. Most Saturdays, Dean’s team wins the match. Match day is not a time to be friendly!
Dean practices soccer skills often. Practice won't make him smart, but will make him a better player. Dean is a fast runner, but he does not always look where he is going. One Saturday, Dean ran into another player. It was not funny, he was hurt! After his friends kindly cheered him on, he still did not get up.
Field Friends
His helpful friends ran over to check on Dean. They cared for him, offered him a drink, and hugged him. Many loving friends cared for Dean, while the coach phoned a doctor. Dean put on a brave face. When he arrived, the kind doctor looked at Dean. Time to go to the hospital!
Field Friends
The friendly hospital staff did tests and cared for Dean. They told him he was okay, but to be more careful next time. His kind friends even met him at the hospital to check on him! They were happy to see Dean was well.
Field Friends
Dean was excited to return to the soccer field and his friends the next Saturday! He shared cakes to thank his kind friends for caring for him. Dean knows his friends are more important than winning the soccer match, and he is lucky they were there to help him in a difficult time.

Sam:
Friends for Life
Leo and Sam had been best friends since they were children. They grew up on the same street, and spent most days together. They both enjoyed being outdoors and were alike in their love of hiking and fishing.Sam was sure he wanted to attend a university, but Leo liked the idea of working with his hands. He did not want to study after finishing school, so he got a job building houses.
Friends for Life
Leo helped Sam celebrate when Sam was accepted into a top university, but secretly he felt sad that Sam would be leaving for school. The young men promised to communicate even over the long distance.Soon the day came when Sam left for school. Leo helped Sam pack his bags, and gave his friend a nice goodbye hug.
Friends for Life
Sam and Leo thought pen pal letters were ‘old school,’ but received emails from each other daily. Besides, it was difficult to remember an address! Sometimes they only had time in their new, busy lives to send each other a quick joke by text message, but they always tried to show they cared!
Friends for Life
Using their phones, Sam learned that Leo had quickly advanced in his job to Senior Builder and Leo was happy each time Sam delivered a great test result. They even introduced their new girlfriends to each other by video call so they wouldn't be strangers!
Friends for Life
However lonely each felt while Sam was away, when Sam visited home over term breaks, he and Leo fell easily into their old friendship. Communication technology made easy to act like they'd never been apart. They were lucky to have so many ways to communicate available to them!

Dear Rob,Greetings from abroad! Yesterday I joined three mans for a walking food tour. We visited a bakery, where we ate several loafs of bread, and later a seafood restaurant. Several of the womans complained their fishes had bones, which became caught in their tooths. Very funny persons!See you soon,Frank
