Prereading

During the last rehearsal, while Mark and Larry were singing together, Allen decided he had to act. He stepped out of the chorus and walked over to the director. “Look at how Larry is dancing. It’s all wrong.”
For the next two months, Allen tried everything he could to get Larry to quit the musical, but Larry didn’t want to quit. Allen told Larry that his voice sounded bad, that he was a bad dancer, and even tried to make Larry get sick. As the performance date approached, Larry stayed far away from Allen and refused to speak to him. Allen kept practicing Larry’s part until he knew it perfectly

Allen stomped back to his spot, but he didn’t continue singing. By the end of the rehearsal, he had a plan to get rid of Larry for good.
The director glared at Allen. “Allen please go back to the chorus. Larry told me that you have been bothering him. You need to stop and leave him alone.” “But he’s not doing his role well,” Allen argued. The director crossed his arms, “This is your last warning, Allen. If you bother Larry again, you will be out of the musical.

Goodbye!

Allen stood in the dressing room imagining himself acting in both roles. It was going to be epic. The director was frantically running around backstage looking for the actors. Nobody but Allen knew anything.
When Mark heard the story that Allen gleefully told, he dropped his costume and raced out of the room. The performance was getting ready to start and now the lead and the villain were both missing.
