Reading
Prereading
How do you feel after you exercise?
Another reason that you should exercise is because it is good for both body and mind. Exercising releases endorphins, which can help your concentration and memory. Exercise makes your heart beat faster, which increases the amount of oxygen in your brain. It also helps new brain cells grow, to make sure you stay mentally sharp.
Learningsession
You should make sure that you do both strength exercises and cardiovascular exercise. Strength exercises, such as squats or weight lifting, improve your muscle strength and endurance. Strong muscles can help you reduce your risk of falls and maintain independence as you get older. Strong muscles will also protect your joints from injury.
Learningsession
Cardiovascular exercises are the types of exercises that increase your heart rate and make your heart and lungs stronger. You should be doing 30 to 60 minutes of cardio exercise every day, which will help control your blood pressure, cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. You can alternate between running, swimming or doing aerobics to get some cardiovascular exercise every day.
