Tuesday

Tuesday It's me, Kelly, again. I can’t believe that mom won’t let me go swimming with Jenny on Saturday. She says I have to go shopping with her to buy a new dress for my cousin’s wedding. Shopping! I hate shopping! It is so boring. All of the stores have the same clothes and there are always so many people. The lines are so long and my mom keeps giving me uncomfortable things that I have to try on. I asked mom if I could go to the movies with Kari on Friday instead, but she said that I will have to babysit my brother while she and my dad go to dinner.

Good At Nothing

Reading

Saturday Today was the craziest day ever. I finally found something I am good at! Mom and I went to the mall, and after I reluctantly tried on six dresses, mom finally chose one I could wear to the wedding. We were finally leaving the horrible place, but there was a magic act in the middle of the mall. We stopped to watch the show and when the magician needed an assistant, he chose me!

purpose

Do you love exercising? Can you run fast? Maybe you should join the track team. On the track team, you can get in shape and enjoy running with teammates or individually. You could also participate in the long jump and try to jump further than everyone, or the discus where you can throw a disk the furthest. The team will practice every day for two hours, so you will need to be dedicated and reliable. There will be a competition every week, so you should come ready to compete and win!

Reading

Do you like exercising and meeting new people, but hate being competitive? You should join the basketball team. We only practice two times a week, so you won’t have to dedicate too much time. The basketball team is a great place to meet new friends and have fun while getting in shape. We practice skills and play a lot of games so you can learn how to shoot baskets. On the basketball team, the emphasis is on having fun while you exercise, so don’t worry if you don’t even know how to play basketball yet.
