Tuesday

Tuesday It's me, Kelly, again. I can’t believe that mom won’t let me go swimming with Jenny on Saturday. She says I have to go shopping with her to buy a new dress for my cousin’s wedding. Shopping! I hate shopping! It is so boring. All of the stores have the same clothes and there are always so many people. The lines are so long and my mom keeps giving me uncomfortable things that I have to try on. I asked mom if I could go to the movies with Kari on Friday instead, but she said that I will have to babysit my brother while she and my dad go to dinner.

Level 6 Unit 2 Lesson 1

prereading

What’s worse, I have a math exam and a history exam on Friday, so I have to study all week. I won’t be able to see Mary’s art exhibit or go out to dinner on Thursday because I have to study. Math is much easier for me than history is. I can never remember the names of all of the countries. Europe is massive and confusing and I am not good at studying.

Last week I went to soccer practice with Kari. I am not very good at soccer. I can’t run with the ball or kick forcefully. The field is massive, and I can’t run as fast as the other players. I might go back next week, but some of the players were really aggressive, and I didn’t like that. I went to an art class with Mary yesterday. The class was interesting, but I have to admit that I can not paint well, either. Mary painted a beautiful landscape with a mountain and a forest and a river. I painted the same thing she did, but my picture was much uglier than hers.

Remember when I told you that I tried out for the show choir? Well, today some of the students in the choir showed a video of my try-out. It was so embarrassing. I was singing horribly and all of the students were laughing at me. I still can’t believe it happened. I was so embarrassed. I am going to bed now. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.

This is an expository text.

Kelly wants to go swimming.

Kelly doesn't have any brothersor sisters.

Kelly is good at singing.
