Have you ever found something valuable on the ground?

Sammy and Jenny entered the park and were immediately grateful to be under the shade of the big elm trees. Sammy ran off toward the shack with the toilets and Jenny followed behind, slowly sipping her lemonade. While Sammy splashed water on his face, Jenny noticed something greenish-brown on the ground. When she leaned closer, she realized it was a wallet. She glanced around to make sure no one was looking and then picked it up.

Inside there was an ID card, a credit card, a few pictures and 150 dollars in cash. Jenny gasped and ran her finger over the money. With the 50 dollars I already have in the bank, I could buy the dress, she thought. She hesitated a moment and then took a deep breath and quickly stuffed the money in her pocket. She dropped the empty wallet back on the ground and shouted out. “Hey Sammy, look what I found.”

Sammy came running over and picked up the wallet without a second thought. “We have to take it to the police station, right?” Jenny nodded, “I guess so. Is there any money inside?” Sammy opened the wallet and shook his head. “Just an ID card. "Someone named Jeremy Powells.” “I don’t know him. I guess the police will be able to find him.” The two walked to the other entrance to the park and then crossed the tree-lined boulevard towards the police station.

As they got closer, Jenny got more and more nervous. She kept her left hand on top of her pocket and checked to make sure none of the bills were peeking out. Sammy pulled open the door to the police station and raced inside eagerly. “Is it okay if I turn it in?” he gasped with excitement. Jenny nodded, “Be my guest,” and she watched as Sammy ran up to the counter and handed the wallet over to the officer behind the desk. Just then her phone buzzed with a message and Jenny quickly wrote to her mother that she could pick them up in front of the station.
