What did we do?

Research Phase Situational Analysis and Training Needs Analysis

Training Programme Based on Research Phase, Design and Deliver Online Training Programme to Tourism SMEs across 5 countries covering topics of Circular Economy & Regenerative Tourism

Certification SMEs were able to choose whether or not to pursue sustainability certification for their businesses, depending on their individual state of readiness.

Measurement Framework Created a survey to be self-administered 3 times during the project for the SMEs to reflect on and evaluate their progress on their own personal regenerative tourism journey

Networking Through online networking sessions and two in person networking events (Leaders & Learners visit to Iceland and International Regenerative Tourism Conference in Ireland) SMEs were inspired by eachother, exchanged knowledge and learned from regenerative tourism examples in all 5 countries.

Coaching Programme SMEs chose their personal sustainability coach and worked with them to embed circular economy and regenerative tourism practices within their businesses

Open Call Tourism SMEs in each country were recruited through an OPEN CALL between July-October 2023

How did it work?

Direct Funding Through the EISMEA Single Market COSME programme, the SMEs were eligible for up to 8250€ in direct funding for coaching, certification and networking.

International Advisory Board The project partners engaged tourism experts in each country onto an International Advisory Board to provide input and advice on the development of the programme.

Support for SMEs Project Partners in each country supported the participating SMEs throughout the project, through the training, coaching, networking and certification, to enable each SME to get the most out of the programme.

Feedback Through feedback from the participant SMEs, project partners, external advisors, sustainability coaches, EU advisor, the CE4RT consortium continuously sought to improve the programme and introduce additional elements to benefit all participants.

Subject Experts The CE4RT Consortium worked with project experts in each country to deliver a quality training programme. SMEs chose their own sustainability coaches to suit the specialisation & requirements of their business.
