The Customer Org

(An Introduction)

Makers

The building blocks of our Workforce, Makers are the individuals that directly contribute to and impact our business objectives. They are accountable and understand what their specialty and focus needs to be. Each of us belongs to a team and feels that way.

Building the Org

Companies

Companies are autonomous groups within Lemonade focused on achieving business goals for each product. Composed of tribes, squads, and individual contributors.

Tribes United

Tribes

Consist of unified leadership working with squads. Senior Individual Contributors (SICs) can operate at the tribe level.

Collection of Squads

Squads

Consists of multi-functional, autonomous teams with clear objectives and scope. Led by squad leads who set the OKRs and manage the day-to-day work.

Teams of Makers

Makers

Everyone's a Maker!

Individual Contributors

You can view your Org Chart in Workday.

Company Example

In this example, we have a Company containing 3 Tribes (each with multiple Squads), 2 Supporting Squads, and 6 Senior Individual Contributors or Senior Leaders. Companies can look vastly different depending on platform complexity.

+ info

The Customer Org is...

The combination of all customer-facing Companies, which includes Customer Experience (CX) and Claims Experience (CLX). Welcome aboard!

Tip: This structure will make more sense as you interact with your team members and stakeholders. The key to remember is that each Maker make special contributions to our objectives.
