Intent

Art at Cedar Children’s Academy is accessible across all year groups. It is inclusive and allows for exploration and expression through different art mediums. Children are exposed to a variety of artists, designers and architects and are given opportunities to create pieces of artwork in the style of the artist studied. Children can experiment and explore using a variety of colour, form, texture and printing techniques. Sketchbooks are used from year one to year six, enabling children to develop and enhance their skills. By the end of year six we want children to be able to express themselves freely through art. Children will understand and have a secure knowledge of the different forms of art and design.
