Tips
Teaching Synchronously
Synchronous time is extremely valuable! If students don't find enough value in it to justify any inconvenience, they might start leaning towards asynchronous formats instead. If you're thinking about giving a lecture, why not consider recording it and sharing it before class when possible? That way, your synchronous class time can be used to dig deeper into the content and allow students more time for application, analysis, synthesis, and/or evaluation of new material.

Tips
Teaching Asynchronously
It's important to set norms and class expectations for contributions right from the start of an asynchronous course. It’s helpful to have an assignment that includes feedback early on so you can use it to build the quality of your asynchronous discussions. If you notice anyone struggling or behind, reach out and lend a helping hand right away to get them back on track.
