USING GEN AI IN OUR APPLICATION PROCESS: BEST PRACTICE AND PERMITTED USE

GenAI tools, like ChatGPT, are revolutionising how people approach a whole host of tasks. We believe it’s important to embrace and not ban these tools, but we also want to make sure we get a chance to see the real you. This policy outlines where GenAI can be used to your advantage, and where GenAI is not permitted and why.

DO

  • Use Gen AI to alleviate anxiety by familiarising yourself with the different types of assessments and their expectations. Use prompts to help identify question types and expected answers - essentially giving you a practice run.
  • Seek guidance on how to prepare for different types of tests and stages in the assessment process.
  • Prepare for your interview at the Assessment Centre by refining how you articulate your own ideas.

DON'T

  • Depend on GenAI to complete assessments for you. These assessments aim to evaluate your natural abilities and suitability for the role. They are designed to help both you and Police Now determine whether you’re a good fit for the role. Using GenAI to portray yourself as something you’re not, may mean you are progressed in the short term, only to be unsuccessful later.
  • Rely solely on GenAI to prepare scripted responses, as this will not be authentic and goes against the and integrity standards.
