USING AI IN OUR APPLICATION PROCESS: BEST PRACTICE AND PERMITTED USE

We believe it’s important to embrace AI tools, such as ChatGPT. However, we also want to make sure we get the chance to see the real you during the recruitment process. This policy outlines where AI can be used, and where it's not permitted and why. Where AI is found to be used in or during your assessments inappropriately, your application will be withdrawn.

DO

DON'T

  • Use AI to research topics around policing, the role you are applying for and Police Now as an organisation.
  • Use AI to practice and familiarise yourself with the different types of assessments and their expectations. Use prompts to help identify question types and expected answers to help you practice before an assessment. However, we would encourage you to use the candidate support materials that are provided through Police Now.
  • Use AI to help you prepare for your interview at the Assessment Centre by refining how you articulate and structure your own thoughts and ideas.
  • Use AI to complete assessments for you or when taking part in an assessment. This would be inauthentic and goes against the and integrity standards. The assessments are designed to help both you and Police Now determine whether you’re a good fit for the role as well as assessing your natural abilities.
  • Use AI to write answers and responses. We’re looking to see both your passion for our mission and your personality, which we will not see through scripted responses.
