Individual educators given the opportunity to choose professional development that is relevant to meainginful to their goals (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

Professional development is completed online to specific educators through interactive activites to enhance learning goals (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

The school district provides professional development that they want all faculty to be introduced to. The district and expose all staff to new learning experiences. (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

A group of collaboritve team members working together to meet goals make relvant and professional development that make change in schools (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

Training occurs on the school building site. This is designed to target school wide goals for all staff (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

1. Team Collaboration of Goals, lesson plans, or learning outcomes 2. Rotation styles of working. Interactive engagement. Use of T-charts or problem scenario

Model's Effectiveness

Sharing ideas, goals, learning objectives with in a community of educators. This can be done by grade level, grade level leader, subject, ect. This is effective when working with other colleagues for the students best interest.

Advantages & Disadvantages

Advantage

Teachers are able to work together and brainstorm ideas with colleagues who are interested in PD that are the same. Teachers can ask for advise, share materials, and learning strategies (P. Erawan, & W. Erawan, 2024)

Disadvantage

Teachers can start to become off topic when it in smaller groups. This type of professional development can easily consume too much time and not able to cover all topics and objectives.

Advantages

This type of professional development meets the entire school staff. It also allows for community learning to meet the sitr schools goals and learning outcomes (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

Disadvantages

Site professional developmen has the potential to not feel direct to each individual classroom and teacher needs. Based on school budget, there is can be concern for not having follow up with more PD Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

Model's Effectiveness

This type of professional development offers choice to the individual. This allows for the person to choose what PD best fits their area of learning. This is an effective model because it helps support personal interest (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

Advantages

Teachers have the power to choose professional Development that they think will best work with their goals, classroom, students, and personal learning

Disadvantages

The professional developments they want to take may not always align with their duty of work.There is still an expectation of learning rigor and classroom relevance

Model's Effectiveness

Remote professional development is effective. This is especially important for educators who need to have flexible schedules (Fogarty & Pete, 2017). Educators are still able to attend and enhance their knowledge through quality professional development that does not require in person PD. (Education Endowment Foundation, 2020)

Advantages & Disadvantages

Advantages

This is the same quality work that is done in person. This also helps reduce educators to feel isolated with professionals during PD (Education Endowment Foundation, 2020). There is opportunity for meaningful interactions through digital PD. Professional development can be sone asynchronous and synchronously.

Disadvantage

When completing online PD there is possibility with technology issues or connection errors. This can in result of missed PD.

Activities

  1. Work in groups with other educators in other schools to collaborate on learning objectives.
2. Peer small group collaborative sessions through break out rooms (Educational Endowment Foundation, 2020). The use of interactive digital content such as Near Pod.

  2. Mini-lessons that are interactive and meaninful in whole or small group setting

Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantage

All educators across the district are given opportunities to learn and access new information (Curriculum, teaching strategies, programs, ect) district wide.

Disadvantages

This type of professional development is done over several days which may not be flexible for everyone. Some educators may find it difficult to connect to the PD or use those strategies (Fogarty and Pete, 2017).

Model's Effectiveness

This professional development is effective and helps introduce new informational, strategies, and skills to all faculty within the district (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).
