Unfortunately, Sophie and Hans were caught handing out leaflets at their university in 1943. Sophie was only 21 years old when she was put on trial and sentenced to death. Even though she was very young, Sophie showed great courage in challenging the Nazis. She knew she could be punished, but she felt it was the right thing to do. Sophie was willing to sacrifice her own life to try to stop the Nazis. Sophie Scholl's story continues to inspire people around the world who want to stand up against injustice.

However, Sophie was secretly questioning the Nazi movement. Although it was against the rules, Sophie and her family continued to listen to foreign radio stations, which might have reinforced her opinion about the Nazi movement.

Sophie Scholl was a young woman who lived in Germany during World War II. She lived with her parents, Magdalena and Robert, as well as her brother, Hans. Sophie was only a teenager when Hitler seized power. For many years, Sophie lived in fear and obeyed the Nazi movement, joining the League of German Girls and working for the national effort.

After finding a leaflet in her brother’s room that spoke out against the Nazis and encouraged peacefu resistance, Sophie joined her brother’s group called the White Rose. Although the group created these leaflets anonymously, it took a lot of courage to stand up against the government that was ruling Germany at the time.
