Welcome to our unit on Investing. This unit will provide you with the essential skills to understand the differents between saving and investing and how to choose and diversify your assets. By the end of this unit, you will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to take control of your finances, ensuring a balanced approach to investing. Let’s embark on this journey towards financial empowerment and stability!
INVESTING basics
- Understand fees and commissions - Understand the benefits of a diversified portfolio

1. Before starting with the presentation, let's break the ice with some questions [5 mins].

2. After breaking the ice, let's see where we are in terms of knowledge with a quick test [5 mins]. 3. Afterwards, we will continue the lesson [3 h and 50 mins] with some theory and exercises. Set some minutes for resting after 2 hours of class to ensure engagement and attention.

Escape room
After slide 21, each participant should access the escape room provided to test their understanding of how inflation affects investments. Dedicate 10 minutes afterwards to exchange impressions.

After slide 11, ask participants to form groups of 3 and brainstorm for 20 minutes about the risks and benefits of investing. Provide them with an A3 paper copy of the handout "Risk and benefits of investing" and pens. Afterwards, they have to present and discuss their ideas.

FUTURE INVESTMENT PLAN
At the end of the lesson, provide participants with the handout "Create your investment plan". They will have to apply the acquired knowledge and create a plan for the future. After 30 minutes, each participant will present and discuss their choices.

After slide 33, ask participants to form groups of 3 and select 3 different funds to calculate their risk and return. Provide them with an A3 paper, computers and pens. Afterwards, they have to present and discuss their choices.

At the end of the lesson, questions and doubts should be solved. We can use the quiz again to see if our students have gained any knowlegde after the lesson. Additionally, the glossary can be presented as an extra knowledge tool.
