Monzón era abogada penalista y activista de derechos de las mujeres..El Congreso de Puebla aprobó el pasado 2 de marzo la bautizada como "Ley Monzón", una reforma del código penal y civil que suspende la patria potestad a posibles feminicidas y la quita si se confirman las sentencias.Es el primer estado mexicano en promulgar una ley de este tipo. Un precedente que ahora impulsores, colectivos feministas y familiares de la víctima esperan que se convierta en ley nacional.En la misma sesión, Puebla también aprobó por primera vez una ley que tipifica los ataques contra mujeres con ácido como tentantiva de feminicidio.
