Los jugadores comienzan con su ficha en la casilla inicial y lanzan el dado.Las fichas se mueven según el número del dado, en orden ascendente. Si, al final de un movimiento, un jugador cae en una casilla donde hay una escalera, aparecerá una pregunta. Si el jugador responde correctamente, sube por la escalera hasta la casilla donde termina. Si responde incorrectamente, no se mueve. Por otro lado, si cae en una casilla donde hay una serpiente, aparecerá otra pregunta. Si responde incorrectamente, baja por la serpiente hasta la casilla donde termina su cabeza; si responde correctamente, no se mueve. Quien llegue a la casilla final primero es el ganador, pero si un jugador está a seis o menos casillas de la meta, debe lanzar el número exacto necesario para alcanzarla.
