Humming Fish :

Can fish sing?

They denounce water pollution, as they gills get blocked by the waste : therefore they can no longer hum.

They can not be humming fish, if they can not hum.

Truffula Trees :

These trees denounce the main environmental cause of the story : Deforestation. Indeed, the Once-ler cuts all trees until they are gone.

These bears denounce deforestation, as a result of this is a lack of natural foods for the local animals. The bar-ba-loots can no longer eat.

This character incarnates the moral of the story. Represented in green : colour of greed. NAME: Once-ler - shows the use of "once" = single use : GREED - refers to "Once upon a time, he learned from his mistakes" : MORAL
