How I use edpuzzle

O1

Knowledge Acquisition

https://tinyurl.com/edpuzzlesmash

My classes are blended

I teach using the Teach Better Team's Grid Method for student-paced mastery learning. Each student gets a checklist of tasks to work through either independently or in teams to learn and apply content knowledge at their own pace. I am constantly floating around the room answering questions, solving problems, leading small group teaching sessions, or most importantly, sitting in on student-lead conferences.

This is a picture from my Economics class last spring. The student in the foreground is completing an Edpuzzle assignment on Market Systems. The students in the back, are completing a timed market-based simulation using playdoh and other tools throughout the lesson.

My primary content delivery system:

  • I'll still lecture or lead something to start a unit or level.
  • Edpuzzle allows for quick delivery, quick check-ins, quick assessessment for exploring what to grow from.
  • Edpuzzle also for quick creation and/or discovery of leveled videos and/or tasks with AI.
  • I save and keep notes on my templates for everything!
Once I get my new courses under my feet, I'll also be recording and sharing my own videos

So Why do I love Genially?

Genially is one of my go-to task delivery modes because:

  1. It is flashy, and fun
  2. A variety of modes of displaying information.
  3. Built in possibilities for choice boards and gamification.
  4. My students love looking for easter eggs!
  5. Time saving with pre-baked options!
