We use the present simple ONLY to talk about future timetables or schedules.

  1. The class starts at four o'clock.
  2. Does your plane arrive tonight?
  3. No, it doesn't. It arrives tomorrow morning.

How to use PRESENT SIMPLE (used as FUTURE)

The ONLY verbs that can be used in the PRESENT SIMPLE used as FUTURE:

  • arrive
  • be
  • begin
  • close
  • depart
  • end
  • finish
  • leave
  • open
  • start

FUTURE "BE GOING TO" + infinitive

How to use BE GOING TO + INFINITIVE

BE GOING TO + INFINITIVE can be used instead: I am going to cook pasta tomorrow / She is going to bake a cake tonight.
