Info
Purpose The goal of this advertisement was to create an eye-catching infomercial that was meant for all ages and people. It was also a less morbid way to address a harsh topic.
Audience This is anyone who would use a train or be around them. It is a wide audience but it is specifically for safety on train platforms
Producers Metro Trains produced the ad with the intent that people had to watch the whole thing to know what it was for. The ad does not show anything about trains until the very end.
Appeals This ad appeals more to pathos. They want you the feel like all the "dumb ways to die" are silly and preventable.
Analysis
The audience really is anyone who uses a train or is around them. Making it really anyone but it also shows other aspects that draw questions and make you realize other silly things you might do without thinking. The producers also did not draw all the attention for themselves. They made it feel like it was a genuine safety concern rather than a company ad. It appeals to someone's pathos. You are mean to feel like it is silly because being unsafe around trains it silly. It is very easy to be aware and safe.
This advertisement does a great job of hooking people and drawing them in. It is a very creative way to tell people to be safe around trains. The song along with it had people sinning it without knowing. The purpose of this ad was to show people it is very easy to be safe around trains and to be aware without throwing it directly in their face. Most commercials that are trying to get the same information across are ignored because they seem unnecessary.
