As an innovative College Preparatory and STEM Academy, SR1 CPSA is in a unique position to provide an innovative educational setting and work environment. SR1 CPSA is not your traditional school district. SR1 CPSA pride’s itself on expanding and improving methods and techniques that work, while also forging forward with new methods, processes, and procedures.
All employees are employed at-will and may be terminated with or without cause, with or without prior notice, at any time, for any reason or for no reason. Similarly, employment with SR1 CPSA is voluntarily entered into, and employees are free to resign at any time, with or without cause. Employees are requested to provide a two-week notice of a resignation when possible. Employment at-will is the sole and entire agreement between SR1 CPSA and you concerning the duration of your employment, and the circumstances under which your employment may be terminated.
At-Will Employment
All SR1 CPSA employees are paid on a monthly basis and direct deposit is required for payroll processing. If a paydate falls on the weekend or holiday, payroll will run on the Friday before. Payroll is processed by PayChex. It is highly recommended that each employee registers with PayChex in order to gain access to your individualized employee payroll portal. Paychex will send an email to your listed emailed address in order to setup your employee payroll portal, you will simply need to click on the link in the email and follow the directions provided.

Currently, SR1 CPSA offers the following benefit programs to eligible employees:
Employee Benefits
Please note that employees who enroll in employee only for medical CANNOT enroll in any additional coverage for dental. However, that employee can do so for vision.
Should you wish to enroll in vision insurance, simply write vision in the upper right hand corner of your enrollment form and indicate what level of coverage you wish to enroll in. For example, ”E” for employee only, “ES” for employee and spouse, ”EC” for employee and children, or “EF” for employee and family.
Complete the enrollment form provided by BCBS of MS, to enroll for benefits through SR1 CPSA. We are considered a small business; therefore, any employee who wants to enroll in benefits and add dependents, must provide their name, age, date of birth, and any other identifiable information requested by BCBS of MS.

Non-exempt employees eligible for sick leave shall be given the following holidays with pay if they physically work the school day before and the school day after the holiday.
SR1 CPSA observes the holidays listed below:

Non administrative employees have a total of 9 days off per school year. These 9 days consist of 3 days of PTO and 6 days of sick time.
Each employee who is eligible for health insurance benefits shall be granted sick days according to the number of days they are originally scheduled to work for each employment year.
PTO Leave
Employees on a twelve (12) month contract are eligible for three (3) PTO days per year. The twelve (12) month period will begin July 1st and end the following June 30th. Employees are not allowed to use PTO time until after the first term has ended.

PTO Classification
Each employee will receive a monthly report that outlines their 2024-2025 beginning balances for PTO and sick time. The report also contains time used and the balance as of a certain cut off date. It is the employee’s responsibility to use their time wisely. Note: Sick time requires medical excuses/documentation. This documentation can come from a physician , dentist, or other medical practitioner.
Time Off Reporting
All employees are required to sign in and out of the via physical time sheets on a daily basis. These timesheets will include your name, time in, lunch out, lunch in, time out, and signature.
Time Recording
Upon the completion of the SR1 CPSA expenditure request, SR1 CPSA admins will submit the request to SR1 for approval via the finance@sr1cpsa.org email inbox.SR1 will either approve or deny the expenditure request. Employee reimbursements are a rare occurrence, reimbursements MUST be approved before any employee incur any cost on behalf of SR1 CPSA. Expenditure requests should be completed in a timely fashion to prevent any type of employee reimbursement.
SR1 CPSA’s expenditure requests follow a strict process of approval from both the Dean and Provost, which also includes the required documentation as to why the expenditure is needed.

Office Visits
You are always welcome at the SR1 corporate office located in Ridgeland, MS. If you need to visit the office to discuss confidential matters such as pay, time, benefits, or human resources, please notify the SR1 employee you wish to meet with before arriving.
Given that SR1 staff attend various on-site and off-site meetings, we want to ensure that everyone receives the undivided attention they deserve during their visit to the corporate office. Remember, at SR1/SR1CPSA, we operate on the principle of "one band, one sound," committed to serving scholars and communities through innovative approaches to education.

SR1 Office Hours
SR1 CPSA offers medical, dental, and vision. There is no waiting period for health insurance coverage. Employees are eligible on day one should they decide to sign up for the health insurance. SR1 CPSA covers 75% of the monthly premium for employee only coverage for medical, dental, and vision. Should an employee elect to sign up for any coverage other than employee only, the employee will be responsible for the difference via payroll deductions.
