Embed a Pear Deck presentation in Edio using the Content Integration component. This allows you to collect data from asynchronous learners. Click the link below for a step-by-step tutorial on how to embed Pear Deck into edio.

Timer

Need a timer? There's one in Pear Deck! On the Teacher Dashboard, click and hold the Lock Screens button, and a 30 second, one minute, and three minute timer will appear. Once the timer expires, students' screens will be locked, and they will no longer be able to adjust their responses.

Immersive Reader reads aloud text from your presentation to learners. Go to peardeck.com, click on Settings, and toggle Immersive Reader on. This will enable Immersive Reader for learners. Note that learners will not be able to utilize Immersive Reader until this setting is turned on.

A button will appear in the bottom right of the learner's screen. Clicking that button will open Immersive Reader, which will read aloud the text on the slide to them.

When learners click Play, Immersive Reader will read the text on the slide aloud to them. Note that it does not read aloud the text in images.To go back to complete the activity, learners click the back arrow in the top left.

Adjust text size, font, and themes.

Grammar options

• Highlight syllables with small dots.
• Highlights parts of speech in different colors.

Reading preferences

• Adjust line focus.
• Turn the picture dictionary on or off.
• Translate text into another language.

Annotating is a reading strategy that encourages readers to close read a text, which improves comprehension. It can be used in all subject areas! For example, you may ask learners to annotate parts of the text they deem important, parts they have a question about, word they find unfamiliar, etc.
