TIt is conducted through live or pre-recorded video presentations. Participants have the leisure to log in and out as needed.
These sessions are used to inform schools of districtwide initiatives. They can be held over the course of multiple days.
Provides training aspecific to staff in the building. The training is more responsive to schoolwide goals.
Each staff member is expected to plan their own path of opportunities to maintain recertification.
Participants get to choose tsessions that are relevant to them in advance. The sessions are facilitated by experts.
Key Characteristics
It's effective because the building as a whole will recieve information relevant to the building.
Educators throughout the district will receive the same information.
To strengthen areas of weaknesses, educators will choose PD effective opportunities.
This PD model can initiate innovation.
Ideas from this PD can be applied to classroom practices.
Effectiveness
1-There will be no traveling to other places in the district.2-Tecnology issues may cause some to miss part or all of presentation.
1- Participants get to choose their PD sessions.2-It is a "dog and pony" show with no opportunities for follow-ups.
1-It provides useful and pertinent information specifically for the building. 2-The school's budget may not be sufficient.
1-This model comes with a vast range of opportunities. 2-The expectation for rigor and relevance may not be ideal for some.
1-All teachers are informed of district/state plans.2-Practicing and coaching are absent from this model.

An educator may be interested in using technology more in the classroom may fill their schedule with like sessions.
The district mandates that all schools uses the same curriculum to provide smooth instruction for students transferring within the district.
The admin team facilitates how to use data to drive instruction in order to boost test scores.
A teacher taking Masters courses to satisfy recertification requirements.
