They are disc shaped, which gives it a large surface area to carry more oxygen.

They are really small so that they can move through tiny blood capillaries to reach all cells

No nucleus so it can carry more oxygen

Contains haemoglobin to carry oxygen

Layer of mucus and lots of cilia (tiny hairs) to trap bacteria/dust & move it on
