TEAMS APP

What's New?
Microsoft has enhanced Teams' functions, including videoconferencing. Meeting transcriptions are now more reliable, and translation into other languages is greatly improved. Additionally, you can access mute and unmute buttons and share a window directly from the Windows 11 taskbar, making it more convenient during regular Teams meetings.
What's in it for me?
You can find this feature by clicking on the "Meet" button accessible from the Teams icon directly on the taskbar. With Windows 11, you'll find a microphone icon automatically added to your taskbar when you're actively in a call.
Enhanced transcription provides direct access to voice or written files, facilitating the writing of meeting minutes and saving you time. Quick access to mute, unmute, and window-sharing buttons helps you manage calls efficiently, avoiding interruptions and maintaining professionalism.

Enhanced security
Where can I access this feature?
What's New?
Windows 11 is twice as resistant to malware and predicted to be the most secure version yet. It allows you to create an access key to log in faster and more securely.
What's in it for me?
Enhanced data protection, reduced downtime, improved user confidence, and better performance and reliability.
You can just type « virus » in the Search bar to find the « virus & threat protection ».
This icon means that updates are pending and you have to reboot your computer. Windows 11 gives you an estimated duration for the update.
Step 1:
Once your computer is ready to upgrade, all you will need to do is reboot! Depending on what laptop model you have, you will receive either a pop up message asking you to pick a time to reboot, or you will notice an orange dot on your start-up menu to let you know to reboot.

Once you select restart now or update and restart, the upgrade will begin, this can take anything from 10 - 45 mins depending on device and WIFI connection.
Please make sure you have set aside the time or begin this after your working day.
Don’t worry. All computers will not receive the upgrade at the same time. Be patient, the IT team follows closely the remaining computers to upgrade.

You can find this feature from the "System" tab of the settings. Then select "Power & Battery" or "Storage" according to what you want to change.
