INTRODUCTION
The first step, before doing emotional work to recover from all kinds of damage, is to learn to distinguish between feelings and emotions. Differentiating between them will not be easy, as most of us are strongly conditioned by various theories of contemporary psychologists. Their ideas have influenced most of the current research on these issues, although practitioners have not yet reached a consensus on the subject. After many years of collaboration between psychologists, psychiatrists, teachers, students, doctors, scientists, etc. on this subject, the conclusion has been reached that there is still no unifying criterion or common agreement when it comes to distinguishing between feelings and emotions. Even so, some conclusions have been drawn without theoretical fissures (in a unified way), which allow us to have a new basis from which to develop in the field of human knowledge. The fact is that for years we asked ourselves the wrong question. We were looking for the difference between feelings and emotions, but the key point is really to find out what are the basic criteria on which we can categorise each of them. Having focused on this question, it has been recognised that there are two broad groups of feelings that are polarised, but interconnected. It will be useful to distinguish and study them individually and as a whole, before attempting to distinguish between feelings and emotions.
