Conclusion
  • The two main questions addressed in this data are, “Do schools provide internet or devices to students?” and “Do schools provide digital training to students and families?”
  • The first slide shows the percentage of schools that provide devices to students between 2022 and 2023, then what percentage of schools provide internet to students in need between 2022 and 2023.
  • Next, slide two shares a pie chart of digital literacy training percentage provided in 2023.
  • Slide three conveys digital literacy that is provided to students and families between 2022 and 2023; there is a higher number of offerings for students compared to parents altogether, and the percentage of students receiving digital literacy in their curriculum has grown in the past year (72% to 75% from 2022 to 2023).
  • Slide four shares Digital Training/Literacy that is provided to students by regions in the United States. Northeast provides the highest digital training, with 78% of schools participating. This compares to 70% in the West, which is the lowest.
  • In Slide five, the graph shows the disparity of digital training based on poverty levels in the surrounding neighborhoods of schools. All public schools average 75% digital training, whereas schools with higher neighborhood poverty is at about 66%; lower neighborhood poverty is 78%.
