Polar bears are one of the species most affected by climate change. The progressive melting of the poles is causing the rapid destruction of their natural habitat.

The emperor penguin is in a similar situation to the polar bear: its frozen natural habitat is changing at a dizzying rate and the melting of the poles is drastically reducing its population.

Bumblebees, one of the world's most important pollinators, are adapted to low temperatures because of the heat they generate in flight and retain in their furry bodies. However, global warming has changed the rules of the game.

It is found in many parts of sub-Saharan Africa, however, in recent decades its populations have been declining due to multiple reasons, including poaching, habitat destruction and climate change. Rising temperatures, prolonged periods of drought and erratic rainfall reduce water levels and quality, on which the species depends.

turtle lute

They can be found in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans, and have nesting beaches on different Latin American coasts, including Colombia. This species is the largest of all turtles and, like most turtles, is endangered.

There are different types of endangered pangolins, such as the Indian and Chinese pangolin. Populations of this species may decline by 50 % in the future over a period of three generations due to overexploitation. This animal is destined for local consumption in most of its range and increasingly for international trade, mainly its scales, to foreign markets, mainly China.
