PROGRESSION OF KNOWLEDGE AND SOCIO-COGNITIVE RESOURCE:The use of simple past tense in affirmative form to describe facts and events that completely concluded in the past in a written activity. SOCIOEMOTIONAL RESOURCE: SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Communication in English based on positive relations to help them be aware of new cultures, new ways of expressing feelings throgh words and other forms of convey meaning.
The teacher asks students to write a short biography with information about a person from the History of Mexico. They will need to include at least...1. Complete name. 2. Place of origin. 3. Nickname (if any). 4. Contribution to the country: science, society, environment, etc. 5. Reason why you chose the person. Then, the students will share the biography, orally, to the rest of the class. Teacher will monitor this individual activity and help when necessary.
- Teacher asks students to make teams of four or five members.
- Teacher gives each team a set of cards and explains that they have to separate the REGULAR verbs from the IRREGULAR verbs.
- Then, the teacher asks the students to make pairs with the IRREGULAR VERBS and write them on the first table.
- Next, the teacher asks students to write the IRREGULAR verbs on the second table and to add the past form.
- Finally, students write the translation of all the verbs they do not know.
- Teacher makes a summary of a reading.
- Students are given a reading were they will find the biography of José María Morelos y Pavón, "The Servant or the Nation".
- Then, they are to complete it with some of the verbs from the ones checked in activity one. Either regular or irregular.
This progression works with the four skills: Listening Reading Speaking Writing
