Progressive replacement over 3 years
Pros
- This method is gentle
- Economical for the beekeeper and bees in terms of effort
- Progressive - it will replace the worst combs
Cons
- Not as easy as it sounds
- As soon as you move combs out they may be filled with nectar
- It still disrupts the dance floor of the colony
- Is not a very effective way to reduce the pathogen load
