Adding a Contact Relationship to an Account
This activity will walk you through how to add a contact relationship to an Account. Throughout the activity, you will be instructed to click on items, drag and drop, and click on markers to learn more. Complete these activities to move forward.

Let's practice adding a contact to an Account.
You receive a call from new Librarian, Brandy Han at St Charles Borromeo School, and she would like to be added as a co-chair for the upcoming Book Fair. You want to start by checking if Brandy Han is listed on the Account. Click Next to continue.

Let’s begin by checking Related Contacts to see if Brandy Han is already a contact on this Account. Click on View All in the bottom of the Related Contacts list to see the list of contacts for this Account.

With our Related Contacts arranged alphabetically, we can see that Brandy Han is not listed as a contact for St Charles Borromeo School. Navigate back to the Account by clicking on the blue St Charles Borromeo School hyperlink in the top left corner.

Click on the marker to learn more.
Now that we are back on the Account, we want to see if Brandy Han is a contact in the Salesforce system.Go to Contact Search in the top right corner and click on it to begin your search.

From the Contact Search page, you will want to search with distinguishable characters such as email or phone number. The new Librarian Brandy, has shared that her email is Drag and drop her email into the email search bar and click Search to continue.

Your search produced one record for Brandy Han. Click on the Review Contact button to open up the contact details for this contact.

By reviewing the information on the Details page, we see that the First Name, Last Name, and email are a match to our contact Brandy Han. If any updates were needed for this contact, you would add them at this time and then hit save. Hit Next to Continue.

Let's review what you would do in the case that your search produced No Records Found.
Now that you know the contact is not on the Account or in Salesforce, you can proceed to add the Contact. To begin adding the contact, click New Contact.

To fill out the New Contact page, use the contact information to drag and drop to the appropriate locations. Click Save when done. First Name:Last Name:Primary Contact Role:Work Phone:
Success! New Contact successfully added. Click Next to continue.
