There are many different types of notes in Salesforce. This activity will walk you through the most common note types you will encounter. Flip through the cards to learn more about each common note type and when you would use them.

General notes
  • Can be used on both Opportunities and Accounts to convey information that doesn't fit in with Tasks or the Call Plan.
  • Can have multiple General Notes on same Opportunity or Account.
  • May be used for special projects or information gathering as directed by leadership.

COMPETITOR
  • This note type is used for recording information on losses to competition.
  • Can be used to log attempts at winback and retention before closing or cancelling a fair.
  • Can be used on an Account or a specific Opportunity.

PROSPECTING
  • Prospecting Notes are used to capture information on booking attempts for both existing and new business.
  • Can contain information on what has been discussed and who we have spoken to.
  • Can be used on an Opportunity or on the Account.

  • Only one note of this type can be on each Opportunity.
