Haphaestus Mission
In ancient Greek mythology Hephaestus was the god of fire. He was one of the 12 gods believed to live on Mount Olympus. Hephaestus was also the blacksmith and craftsman of the gods. Volcanoes and fires were considered his workshops The children start a mission to learn about natural disasters and protection measures
October-November: volcanoes!
Volcanoes! Our children watched videos and learned facts about volcanoes. And did various STEAM activities!
december- january earthquakes!
The children learned about earthquakes, how they are created, what happens and measures of protection. STEAM activites were done.We did an earthquake drill at school so that we are prepred. And we also put together our safety bag with all that is needed.
february-march fires!
Fires can happen anywhere in the forest, out in nature, in our home even our school. It is important to know how to protect ourselves. Fire drills and how to react when our clothes might catch fire are important. And various STEAM activities.
april-may floods-tsunami
We live on an island and floods or tsunami might happen so we learned about them amd measures of protection. STEAM activities are a aprt of this unit too.
