UPS Candidate Compliance Journey
I-9 Center
The I-9 Center is where all forms that are completed by candidates are captured. The I-9 Center provides dedicated pages for each the I-9 and W-4 forms.
Liveops Agents will use the I-9 Center to locate candidate information, review the status of their forms, and take action on forms when needed.
Liveops Agent Support
Liveops Agents will support candidates whom are on working on their I-9 and W-4 forms.
Agents will provide inbound and outbound support on topics such as the following:
- A candidate needs help understanding what to do next on a form.
- A candidate needs the data autopopulated on their forms updated which requires their profile updated.
- A candidate has an E-Verify status case open and needs it resolved.
Compliance Center stage
The Compliance Center stage includes two tasks that candidates must complete before they can schedule their start date. The stage consists of the following:
- I-9 Form - Candidate will complete Section 1 of the I-9 Form.
- Candidate will designate a friend or family member as an Authorized Representative whom will review their submitted documents.
- W-4 Form - Candidate will complete all employee sections of the W-4 Form.
E-Verify
UPS uses E-Verify, a supplemental check performed by the government to verify an employee's identity and employment eligibility after the I-9 is completed
In certain cases, E-Verify will apply case statuses to an I-9 Form when potential issues arise during their verification process. For example, if the photo IDs uploaded by the candidate do not match with government records, then a Photo Mismatch status would be applied to the I-9. Liveops Agents will help monitor and resolve E-Verification case statuses.
